Team System Failure is recruiting able minded Deus Ex Community members for a MOD project to begin early February 2002. This will be an extensive and consuming MOD, not a total conversion of the System Shock game itself. As this is an ambitious undertaking, we are expecting only the best people in the DeusEx MOD community to help us create one of the best MOD's in existence.
Recruitment of individuals or entire teams is desired. Do not expect us to create 2 or 3 candy-ass missions; this will be a campaign to defeat SHODAN herself. Do expect this MOD to kick ass on every level from the story under production to the end product. Do expect to find yourself consumed, within reason, and driven to the boundaries of your current levels of proficiency and refreshed like the reborn Phoenix.
Project Details: Story is currently in production with expected completion date of early February 2002. Cross-over of SystemShock and DeusEx universes. MOD is informally known as "Severed Connection" based on Rob Weller's "Divine Seed Chronicles" in which numerous dimensions are in the process of being infected by SHODAN, the female nemesis of System Shock released by EA/Origin/LGS.
We are looking for experience. Those who have worked on MOD projects and those with familiarity in the following areas are encouraged to join now!
Modeling: We will need several new enemy models as well as those described in the story that is currently under production. Modelers will need to be proficient skinners and in all likelihood have to work with the coders to get their reasonably poly'd models to work in the game. Here are some art samples to give you an idea of what we need. Some models will have to be modified to suit our needs, but this will be determined before the story is finalized.
Coders: writing code and classes for existing models, subclasses of existing models, new models, weapons, and just playing god to get everything together into a far reaching campaign that hopefully will not crash out DeusEx; hey, we can hope, right?
Skinners: If necessary, you will create the enemy model skins and textures for specialty non-npc models.
SFX/audio: Conversion of some SS1 and SS2 audio files for use with DeusEx. Files can be uploaded to a server that you can download from.
Mapping: Check the SCREEN SHOTS. If you can contribute, please contact AmranX@home.com
Texturer: Unneeded at this time unless you are the IT-SHAY (don't wanna cuss -much). We are using original textures from Deus Ex plus a large assortment of System Shock 2 textures, including animated textures. The images used in the animated textures have been categorized for easy processing into DeusEx compatible animated textures. Some custom textures may be required; you will create them, submit them, and grin as we drool over them.
CONVERSATION ENGINE USERS: WE NEED YOU! If you know your way around the conversation engine or Lightwave 5.5 or whatever in the hell was used to create conversations, then WE NEED YOU!
